CHRISTMAS is fast approaching – which also means Southport’s most popular white-collar boxing event, Fisticuffs and Cufflinks, is back for the seventh year running.

Hosted by Capital FM’s Baz Todd, the event originated in 2012 and is organised in memory of local businessman Carl Horan.

Every year since, Fisticuffs and Cufflinks has repeatedly been a sell-out.

After much research, the charity Rainbow House was chosen for the event to support.

Rainbow House helps children, young people and adults with neurological conditions such as cerebral palsy, brain injuries, strokes, MS and genetic conditions via conductive education (CE).

CE teaches skills to help people lead more active and independent lives.

The aim is to help each individual achieve their full potential.

Fisticuffs and Cufflinks is due to be held on Friday, December 7, at The Southport Theatre & Convention Centre on the Promenade.

This event is a sell-out every year, so the organisers advise you to purchase your tickets early.

This is the year of sevens for Fisticuff & Cufflinks, as it’s the event’s seventh year and the event is being held on December 7, with a 7pm start – and there will be seven fights.

As always, the event caters for everyone (even those who don’t love the fights but love the atmosphere), with plenty of fundraising elements, including a raffle.

Every year, amateur boxers train for months before entering the ring to test their skills, so people are invited to go along to support these boxers not only for an excellent night but also to raise money for an amazing charity.
