Driver held after car crash

A SUSPECTED drink-driver was arrested after reportedly crashing a stolen car.

Main roads in Kew were gridlocked after two cars crashed in Scarisbric­k New Road on Thursday afternoon.

Police and ambulance were called to the scene, near Kew roundabout, when a Kia and BMW collided at about 3pm.

A woman was taken to hospital with minor injuries.

Police later said that a 41-year-old man was arrested on suspicion on drink-driving and unauthoris­ed taking of a motor vehicle. The collision caused major delays around Kew roundabout and on the A570.
