Big cheque cheer as choir helps patients at leukaemia unit

-

A CHOIR raised £1,800 from a concert to support people with leukaemia being treated in the Medical Day Unit (MDU) at Southport hospital.

It was presented by former patient Colin Pomphrett, a former patient, with his wife, Brenda, who are members of the choir.

The community choir, based at Ainsdale Methodist Church, Southport, gave the concert of songs from the movies and musicals in July.

It was attended by Lynn Sugden and Kate Hughes, from the MDU.

Octave gives two or three concerts for charity each year.

Members have raised more than £25,000 since forming 15 years ago.
