Shoeboxes are full of love from students at Our Lady

-

PUPILS at Our Lady of Lourdes School in Birkdale answered the Rotary Club’s appeal to fill shoeboxes with items to bring happiness to Eastern Europeans who have little.

In total 232 boxes were filled with items needed by adults, children and babies, since half term and handed to the Rotarians on Friday, November 30.

Mrs Ann Swainson, RE co-ordinator at the school, was delighted by the generosity and enthusiasm of families at the school:

“The everyday items in the boxes are taken for granted by most people in the UK but to the adults and children who receive them they represent an unexpected gift given with love.”
