Help the sprinting Santas

-

VOLUNTEERS with lots of festive spirit are needed to help out at Queenscourt Hospice’s annual Santa Sprint.

The fun run, which will take place on Sunday, December 16, needs volunteers to marshal the route, provide assistance to spectators and cheer the runners on.

This will be the ninth year of the event and to celebrate there will be a 5K and a 3K course. Every participant will receive a Santa suit to wear as they sprint, jog or amble their way along the route which starts at Southport Pier.

They will also receive a medal and a free hot drink.

Rachael West, volunteer and citizenship worker with Volunteer Centre Sefton – which is part of Sefton CVS – said:

“Queenscourt Hospice provides an invaluable service to Southport and West Lancashire residents with serious illnesses by enabling them to achieve the best possible quality of life.

“The Santa Sprint is a great way to raise money for this really worthwhile local cause.”

If you are interested in volunteering for this one-off event, or would like to take part in the Santa Sprint, please email Katy Pellow at volunteers@queenscourt. org.uk or call 01704 544645 for more information.
