Face of man in glass probe

POLICE investigat­ing an assault outside an Ormskirk nightclub have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to.

Officers were called to Railway Road at 2am on Friday, January 18 after a Southport student was hit in the face with a glass bottle.

The victim, 20-year-old Katie MacDonald, fell into a seizure – something she has started suffering from since she was recently kneed in the head while playing rugby.

She was taken to hospital with a broken nose and cuts to her face.

According to Lancashire police, two men were alleged to have been fighting when the Edge Hill University student was hit with the bottle.

Police attended the scene and arrested a 22-year-old man from Ormskirk on suspicion of affray. He was given an adult caution.

Now officers have released CCTV images of a man they want to speak to as part of their investigat­ion into the attack after scouring footage from the night.

PC Karen Collins, of Lancashire police, said: “We are investigat­ing a serious assault in Ormskirk which left a woman with a number of facial injuries.

“Having reviewed

CCTV footage we would like to speak to this man as part of inquiries.

“I would encourage anyone who recognises him to contact police. Furthermor­e if you are the man pictured, please come forward and contact police.”
