He said: “This has caused a huge amount of disruption and people are very upset, quite understand­ably.

“I think if they took more of an interest in what was going on at the site, then that would be a good thing.”

Nigel Franklin, Belong property manager, said: “We deeply regret any inconvenie­nce and distress experience­d by neighbours during the constructi­on process and we are working closely with our contractor, Pochin, to ensure these matters are being given due priority, with everything possible being done to minimise disruption.

“We understand that Pochin, in turn, has escalated residents’ claims with their insurers to ensure speedy investigat­ion and resolution, and are communicat­ing regularly with local residents.

“Sefton MBC building control are monitoring the build and, to the best of our knowledge, Pochin have been fully compliant with all required standards, including health and safety and environmen­tal, and are working with their sub-contractor­s to ensure they meet expected standards regarding parking and deliveries.

“The piling and foundation stage is now complete, and work is on track for us to take handover of the building from Pochin in the autumn.”

Pochin decline to comment when contacted by the Visiter.
