Public urged to get Covid-19 vaccine and follow-up injections
DOCTORS are reminding people in Southport and Formby of the importance of being vaccinated against Covid-19, and it couldn’t be easier to grab your jab.
So far, more than 85% of all adults have had at least one jab, and those aged 18 or over are being urged to visit their nearest walk-in clinic or book their appointment on the national booking service website.
Dr Rob Caudwell, chair of NHS Southport and Formby Clinical
Commissioning Group (CCG), said: “It’s never been easier to get your Covid-19 vaccination here in Sefton and we are reminding everyone of the importance of being protected against Covid-19.
“There are now several ways to get your vaccination including local pharmacies that you can book through the national booking system, along with walk-in sites and other venues across the borough.
“It’s also important to have your second dose to ensure maximum protection and you can get this eight weeks after your first jab.”

Getting the second dose is vital to getting longer lasting and maximum protection offered by the vaccines, with recent research also showing they are highly effective against the Delta strain of the virus.
