Biker suffers life-changing injures in crash on seafront
A MOTORCYCLIST was left in critical condition and suffered lifechanging injuries in a crash on Southport’s seafront.
The man, in his 30s, was airlifted to hospital where his condition is described as “critical but stable”.
A second patient was also taken to hospital but is not believed to have suffered major injury.
The injuries occurred when the motorcycle and a car crashed between Marine Drive and Fairway at around 4.45pm on Tuesday.
Police, fire and ambulance services all attended and road closures were put in place to allow an air ambulance to land and for investigations to take place.
A spokesperson for Merseyside Police said that he driver of the car stopped at the scene and assisted police with enquiries.
CCTV and witness enquiries into the incident are ongoing and anyone with information is asked to come forward.
Roads Policing Inspector Carl McNulty said: “We’re asking anyone who was in the Marine Drive area who may have witnessed the collision yesterday evening to contact us.
“If you captured mobile phone or dashcam footage of the incident then please get in touch as any information you have could prove vital to our investigation.
“Whether you choose to get information to us directly or anonymously, through Crimestoppers, any information you provide will be acted upon.”
