Wasps are forcing me out of my bedroom Woman suffering and sleeping on floor due to infestation

AWOMAN from Southport claims she slept on the living room floor after ‘European wasps’ descended on her home.

Clare Norton, who lives with her chihuahua Missy, claims wasps have overtaken her home on Wavell Close, leaving her with “nowhere to go”.

The mum-of-two now lives alone since her twins, Nicola and Dean, both moved out to live with their partners.

The 38-year-old suffers with depression and PTSD, and says she has been left feeling even worse as a result of the wasp infestation.

She said: “I’m not well at all, I keep thinking they’re coming in the house and it’s making me feel depressed.”

Clare also claims she had to make repeated calls to housing association Riverside before someone was sent out to inspect the problem.

Clare posted on the hyperlocal website, Nextdoor, saying: “European wasps in my bedroom. So since Saturday I’ve been sleeping on my living room floor with my poorly chihuahua. Has anybody else had an infestation that the Riverside Housing Association hasn’t sorted out?”

She said: “I don’t know if it’s a wasps nest. I don’t know how they are getting in. The man that came round has assumed it is from the attic.”

Clare claims the wasps first appeared on Saturday, July 17 in her bedroom. She started killing them thinking there was only a few, but she claims they continued to appear.

She told the Visiter: “Wasps kept coming in my bedroom. I killed them, then more kept getting in even though I had the door shut. I rang Riverside and they said it was down to me to get rid of them.”

Riverside said they intend to remove the suspected wasps nest as a gesture of good will.
