Supermarket manager comes to Linda’s rescue
A WOMAN said her “faith in humanity” was restored by a Home Bargains employee.
Linda Brolly was buying toys for her dog at the Meols Cop Centre in Kew store last week.
The 59-year-old, who sufferers from fibromyalgia and arthritis, was doing a routine shop when she felt a sharp pain in her side at the checkout.
Linda shouted in pain and was struggling to unload the rest of her shopping. However, she was helped by the manager of the store.
She said: “He heard me shout out in pain and instantly dropped everything that he was doing and came over to help me. I was struggling to unload my shopping and he made sure that I was okay.”
After the manager loaded Linda’s shopping at the end of the till he offered to carry the rest of her shopping outside to her car but Linda declined. She said: “I felt silly so I took the rest of the shopping outside myself but he was just such a kind man.”
Linda, from Banks, said the interaction helped to ‘brighten up her day’ and the small act of kindness meant so much to her.
She said: “Due to my health problems when I’m coming out of a shop I feel fit to die. It’s just made me feel better to know that there is actually somebody concerned enough to help.
“It has improved my whole week and it restored my faith in humanity to know that no matter what is going on, with people struggling at the moment because of rising fuel and gas going up that there is somebody who is prepared to put themselves out there for someone else.”
Linda said that she will definitely be going back to the store in the future and hopes that she sees the manager again.
She said: “He just went above and beyond and just really made sure if I was okay and if I see him again I’d just tell him thank you.”
