The long wait for Dibley is almost over

-

HAVE you secured your seat in the pew to come and hear from The Vicar of Dibley? Our service begins on Friday, April 29 and there are performances each night at 7.30pm until Saturday, May 7. Unusually for a woman of the cloth, she will have the Sunday off though.

In case you are unfamiliar with the premise of this classic comedy, the fact she is a woman of the cloth is very important.

We are welcomed to the beautiful village of Dibley. Nothing much has ever really happened here until the Reverend Pottle dies whilst delivering a sermon. A sad passing of the local vicar but it gives the Bishop a chance to send them a new vicar. Younger, brighter, wittier, more attractive, chocolate lover and of course a WOMAN.

This opens the door for much hilarity within the village. Will they accept this woman into their bosom or reject her at the first chance they get? Will she find a way into their hearts or will she leave with her tail between her legs?

This production has been two years in the making and it is well worth the wait. We will be bringing you four classic episodes which will be enjoyed whether or not you have seen the television show that first aired in 1994.

The Arrival was the first ever episode and introduces the Reverend Grainger to us and the residents. This will be followed by the second episode, Songs of Praise, where the crew of the popular show descend on Dibley and Geraldine catches the eye of the show’s producer. In The Engagement, Geraldine is playing cupid for two lovestruck members of her congregation but this is not without complication. Finally we see Dibley Live, in which the villagers set up a radio station for a week and Geraldine holds a competition for the best DJ.

Director Adrian MilesRoberts has referred to it being a delight and a privilege directing this fabulous cast and play and urged audiences to get their tickets.
