Little Zippy waiting to find a loving home

- BY SOPHIE HUBBLE

OVER at RSPCA Southport Ormskirk & District Branch we have been trying to find little Zippy a new home to call his own.

Unfortunately, Zippy hasn’t been successful and is still with us patiently waiting.

Zippy is a five-year-old small cross breed. Zippy didn’t have a good start to life and it has left a big impact on him.

He is in need of training and socialization to general day to day life. Owners will need to take it very slow with Zippy and work to his pace in order to not overwhelm him or put him in situations he can’t handle.

We have found Zippy to be a friendly boy who is rather independent. He enjoys playing in the secure garden areas around the Centre and he is learning to walk offsite on a lead.

Owners will require a secure garden of their own as this will be essential in training Zippy and giving him his own area that he can learn to know and build up his confidence. Zippy is in need of a pet free home with any children being 14+.

We truly feel given the time to settle and learn Zippy will make a lovely addition to the right family.

Another dog who has been with us a while is Adrianna, a three-year-old large cross breed.

Adrianna is in need of an experienced adult only home with no other pets.

We have found her to be a very friendly, exuberant girl who loves human companionship.

We find that Adrianna wants to be with us all the time, be it cuddling on the sofa, going out for walks, or playing in the garden.

Owners will need to be around a lot for Adrianna as they will need to teach her its ok to be alone for short periods of time. This beautiful girl knows basic commands but would benefit from more positive reward-based training.

As well as dogs we also have lots of cats all searching for forever homes to call their own. One boy currently searching is Tango, a two-year-old neutered male.

Tango is a shy boy who is in need of a calm loving home where he can have his own space to settle. Tango is certainly in need of some TLC. We often find Tango sunbathing in his outside pod watching the world go by. He also loves to play with toys and is often found entertaining himself. Tango has improved a lot since arriving with us and we feel he will keep gaining confidence once in a home. Tango is in need of a pet free home with any children being 10+.
