Popular beer festival returns
NEWS of another beer festival easily reached from the Southport and West Lancs area - the long-established Wigan Beer Festival will take place from Thursday, March 2 to Saturday, March 4.
In addition to the real ale bars, the festival will also be operating bars for craft beers, ciders, perries, gin and prosecco.
There will be entertainment at the Friday evening and Saturday sessions but Thursday evening and Friday afternoon have been designated quiet sessions for customers who prefer to drink in a music-free environment.
The festival venue is Robin Park Sports and Tennis Centre, Loire Drive, Wigan, WN5 0UH.
As this is just over a mile from the town centre, transport between the Wigan stations and the festival is once again being offered by the Wigan Transport Trust.
This means you can travel in style in classic old buses; no fare is charged, but passengers are encouraged to make voluntary contributions to help cover the costs involved.

Sponsorship from just £60 will grant sponsors access to the exclusive sponsors’ session.
Anyone under the age of 18 will be allowed entry to the festival with a responsible adult but must leave the venue before 6pm.
