Planning permission has been granted for a change of use with the ground floor to retain the bar / leisure unit and a new self-contained retail unit and for the first and second floors to be converted into 10 self-contained apartments.
The existing premises provides a large dining area with 70 covers, pool room and lounge. The upper floor currently comprises the owner’s accommodation with four bedrooms, lounge, kitchen, dining room, office and stores.

910Coronation Indoor climbing centre and cafe
Businessman Duncan Craft is determined to play his part in the renaissance of Southport by investing more than £500,000 in a new climbing gym.
Located in a Grade II-listed former auction house at 339-341 Lord Street, a Victorian era building near the junction with Nevill Street, the ‘bouldering gym’ will feature climbing walls up to a height of 4.5m.
Duncan said: “I want this to be a great facility for climbers but, beyond that, I want this to be a real hub for the wider community. There is going to be a cafe on the ground floor and on the top floor we will have a lounge where people can come and work remotely.”
Marine Centre Lake Events
Demolition of the former Southport Theatre and Convention Centre and enabling works for the new Marine Lake Events Centre will take place this year.
In December, the exciting £73 million Marine Lake Events Centre took a huge step forward after its business case was approved by the Government’s Levelling Up department. The MLEC is expected to bring 515,000 new visitors to Southport each year, while generating an annual £18 million for the local economy.
