ORGANISERS of the new Comedy Bingo Spring Social in Southport say they are thrilled by the positive response to the first show.

The events are designed to create a fun, family friendly afternoon for people of all ages to enjoy.

The first one saw dozens of people gathering together at Southport Market as they had a great day out as they played to win some top prizes.

It was superb value too with just £3 including a free tea, coffee, pint of beer or wine.

Further Comedy Bingo Spring Socials will take place on Wednesday, March 15 and Wednesday, March 29, with doors open at 1pm for a 1.30pm start.

People can book their place via: skiddle.com/e/36296135 or the Big Comedy website www.bigcomedyuk.com

Tickets can also be purchased on the door subject to availability or people, or groups, can call Brendan Riley on 07770591625.

The first two events have been made possible thanks to sponsorship from Crystal Clear Opticians and the Community Link Foundation Charity. The third Spring Social has been sponsored by Halliwell Jones MINI Southport.

Comedy Bingo Spring Socials host Brendan Riley said: “I am looking forward to the next afternoon already! We have already sold quite a few tickets for it.

“There was a really good atmosphere at the first one, I am really pleased that so many people came and enjoyed it.

“The feedback we have had has been tremendous. It was lots of fun, and good for the traders inside Southport Market too with all the food outlets open.

“I thought the Spring Socials would be good for retired and elderly people in the area, but also young mums and their kids, mums’ groups, social groups, blokes on their own. We had a few children in for the first event which was lovely to see.

“It’s good, clean family fun. great.

“The Covid pandemic has exacerbated the sense of isolation for so many people and this is a way of bringing people together in a fun, relaxed atmosphere at a very low, affordable cost.

“To see so many people come and enjoy the afternoon was fantastic.

“I would like to say a big thank you to our sponsors: Crystal Clear Opticians, Halliwell Jones MINI Southport and the Community Link Foundation for allowing this to happen. I am also grateful for the support from Leah, Mark and Denise at Southport Market.

“I would love to carry on with these Spring Socials and if anyone would like a conversation about supporting future events, I would be happy to speak with them.”
