Can you give Bobby, Iris or Tibby a home?

-

NUMBERS of cats and dogs needing to come into RSPCA care is growing by the day. Centres like ourselves are bursting with animals that have either been neglected or cruelly treated by their owners or signed over as they can no longer care for their once beloved pet.

Sadly, many of the animals that come into our care are not available for adoption until the courts give us permission to rehome the animal.

This means many of our animals stay in our care for many months, some even longer than a year. For these animals we try to find temporary foster homes.

Fostering means that you care for an animal within your own home, you provide them with lots of love and care until we hopefully are able to rehome them or they are possibly returned to their original owners, depending on the outcome of the courts investigation. We provide food, veterinary care and all basic necessities for the animal while in foster care.

This means there isn’t a financial strain on the fosterer. All we ask if that you can provide the animal with a warm loving home and have time to dedicate to the animal.

Currently we are trying to grow our fostering team, if you would like to apply to become a foster helper please contact us on 01704-547624.

As well as fostering, we have many animals in need of adoption. Adoption means you adopt the animal and take on full responsibility for your new pet.

Currently for adoption we have Bobby, a six-year-old Lurcher who has so much love to give. We have found Bobby to be a very friendly boy who is a firm favourite here at the centre. Bobby loves to play in our paddock areas, he is often found zooming around having fun.

Bobby is a confident boy who likes meeting new people and dogs. Bobby would benefit from reward based training and to learn some manners when meeting new people or dogs. Bobby is looking for a home with any children being aged eight and over, he could live with another friendly dog but isn’t suitable to live with cats.

Iris is a sweet natured three-yearold girl who is looking for her new forever family. Iris requires a patient and understanding home, with new owners having a slower approach to help her settle.

Sadly, she has had a difficult start to life having been found abandoned, but since her arrival at the cattery she has started to gain more confidence. Once she knows you, you can see her personality start to shine and we feel her confidence will blossom once she has settled into a home environment.

To help Iris settle in, she would benefit from a quiet room or space where she can retreat too. Iris needs a pet free home and can live with older children aged 12 and over.

Tibby is a sassy six-year old female, who could live with another friendly cat and older children. We have found Tibby to be a friendly and sweet girl, who is often found waiting at her pod door for someone to give her a cuddle. She loves human interaction and would make the perfect lap cat.

However, her playful and sassy side may come out when she has settled into her new home. Tibby will bat you away when she has had enough attention. Tibby is a very confident girl and hasn’t been phased around new faces, and will come over to say hello and get attention.

To apply for any animal please send in a completed Perfect Match application form, this can be found via our website or if you are local you can collect a paper copy from our reception team.
