Do you have an up-to-date Will?

-

NEW home, just moved in together, engaged, married, change in circumstances, pitter patter of tiny feet, retirement - these are just a few of the reasons why you should consider writing a Will.

This April, Queenscourt Hospice is highlighting the importance of having an up-todate Will and we are being supported by participating local solicitors who will provide their expert services free of charge, in exchange for a donation to Queenscourt Hospice.

Making a Will doesn’t have to be daunting and whatever stage of your life it is so important to have your affairs in order to ensure that your wishes are recorded.

Maybe you’ve just bought a new home or moved in with your partner, maybe you’ve got a new job or retired. If a new member of the family has arrived or you’ve just got married, these are all key stages in life that we celebrate.

Equally important is taking a moment to think about and plan for the future. Having no Will in place means your wishes are not recorded, which could leave your loved ones with the difficult and lengthy task of finalising your affairs.

Making a Will gives you peace of mind that your wishes are recorded and your loved ones will be looked after.

During our Queenscourt Make a Will Month this April, participating solicitors will provide the following services free of charge, but kindly ask for a suggested donation to Queenscourt in return: Single (basic) Will - suggested donation of £100 Joint (mirror) Will - suggested donation of £150 Amendment to existing Will suggested donation of £50.

To make your donation or for further information, please visit www.queenscourt.org.uk/ makeawill Legacies for Queenscourt Legacies are personal. You want to make sure that your family are provided for, and to leave gifts to those you love. Whether it is money or personal items, each gift is given with thought and consideration, and is an expression of who you are and whom or what, you loved and supported.

After you have looked after your nearest and dearest, a gift in your Will could help #teamqueenscourt to continue providing exceptional compassionate care for local people when they need us the most.

Elisabeth Hartley, Fundraising Manager at Queenscourt Hospice, said: “”We are so grateful to the local Solicitors who are able to give up their time again this year to support Queenscourt during Will Month 2023.

“Since Queenscourt’s Make a Will Month scheme was launched in 2014, it has raised over £100,000 and seen more than 1,000 Wills written or updated.

“The future of your local Hospice relies upon people like you remembering us in your Will. It’s a simple way of ensuring that #teamqueenscourt will be here to care for generations to come. Once you have provided for your loved ones, please consider leaving a gift to Queenscourt.”

There is no obligation for you to include a gift to the hospice in your Will, however, any gift in your Will made to a UK registered charity such as Queenscourt Hospice, will be tax free and may help reduce the amount of Inheritance Tax your estate would otherwise have to pay.
