‘Mini Ibiza’ is set to coast into town
AN UPDATE has been issued about plans that could see a Merseyside beach transformed into a ‘miniIbiza’.
Sefton Council confirmed that, following the success of last summer and the summer before, there will be a return of coastal food and drink offerings at Ainsdale and Crosby beaches.
In recent years Sefton’s coastline has seen huge numbers of visitors flocking to the beaches.
With the huge numbers of people visiting the coastline, the council said it set itself the goal of continually enhancing visitors’ experiences.
The local authority is seeking to expand the coastal concessions from summer trials into longerterm arrangements.
But when people flocked to the seaside over Easter Bank Holiday weekend they were disappointed to find there was no food to be seen at Ainsdale beach.
It came as people heading to Crosby could eat and drink at the popular
Bus Yard, which visitors have compared to Ibiza in recent years, and hopes are there for a similar result at Ainsdale.
The Beach House at Ainsdale will now open this weekend (April 15) for visitors to enjoy freshly made food and drink.
The venue, run by Sefton Hospitality Operations Ltd (SHOL), had to remain closed over Easter due to staffing issues, it has been revealed.
Kellie Rixon MBE FIH, Chair of SHOL and the Institute of Hospitality, said: “There was a slight delay to opening by a few days due to staffing issues.
“This is an issue the hospitality sector is facing currently.
“However we are raring to go and are really excited to be opening up the Beach House this Saturday.
“It’s always a good feeling at the start of the season knowing that we have the whole summer ahead.
“We’re looking forward to the celebrations starting on Saturday and the fun continuing during the summer.
“Having operated the Beach House for the first time last year, we know what people are looking for from us and we have spent time working on this.
“We are confident that beachgoers will be happy with what will be available from the Beach House.
“We look forward to seeing lots of people heading for a fun day at the seaside and we are sure that what we offer will add to their experience of a great day out.”
The Beach Hut will be open Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 6pm serving small plates, snacks and drinks.
