Little Theatre has a hatched a cunning plan for great show
WE hope you all had a wonderful holiday weekend, the sun shone on Southport and our volunteers had a well-deserved weekend off.
We were also delighted to be nominated by Southport Business Improvement District as we were shortlisted as Leisure Venue of the Year 2023.
Thank you to all of you who have voted, we will learn the results on April 18.
Edmund Blackadder is head butler to Prince Regent (George, Prince of Wales serving as regent due to the unfortunate afflictions of his father King George III).
As usual, Blackadder is sandwiched between his superior and his servant and general dogsbody, Baldrick.
Alongside our notorious trio we meet a cracking clutch of comedic characters including raucous coffee shop owner Mrs Miggins and the reminiscent MacAdder.
This will be the last SDC show on the main stage boards, but we do have a flurry of sublets coming in to entertain you right through until July.
Also in rehearsal, we have our annual bar production. Paul Wilkinson is directing Lilies on the Land which will be performed from June 13-17.
The piece was devised by The Lions Part in 2001 in order to tell the stories of the Land Girls who answered their own call to arms, or farms, during the war.
The stories are told through the eyes of four women – Margie, Peggy, Poppy and Vera.
The words come from the stories and letters of actual Land Girls gathered by the company.
