WE’RE going back in time to May 1982 in Southport once again, to take a look at how much our town has changed, how much of it has stayed the same – and to see whether you recognise any of the faces in the pictures!

It’s still a popular place for people of all generations to go and play or relax.

Were these VE Day commemorations? Southport Crown Post Office in the background was open in those days and the bus stops look very different!

There were lots of impressive looking toy cars, trains and buses on display when the St John’s CE Church Train and Toy Sale took place in May 1982.
