Hospice calls for volunteers to join its board of trustees
QUEENSCOURT Hospice in Southport and Formby is continuing its journey of growth and impact.
To support this, the hospice has announced it is extending an invitation to dedicated individuals from the community to express an interest in becoming integral members of its board of trustees.
Some of the hospice’s key volunteers are its board of trustees, who act as trustees of the charity and non-executive directors of the company.
The board oversees the work of Queenscourt by providing strategic direction, monitoring performance and ensuring that the charity has sufficient funds to deliver its services and honour its promises to the people and organisations who give so generously each year.
In particular, Queenscourt Hospice is seeking trustees to support its clinical and retail activities; however, the charity welcomes applications from candidates across a variety of backgrounds.
Trustees will be expected to always act in the best interest of the charity to ensure it is carrying out its purpose for the public benefit through services for patients, families, carers and communities.
Trustees will also work closely with the executive directors who carry out the day-to-day operational responsibility for running the organisation as it achieves its strategic objectives and fulfils its vision.
Debbie Pierce-Lawson, the corporate services director at Queenscourt Hospice, said: “We are delighted to be inviting applications to join our board of trustees at such an exciting time for our hospice.
“As Queenscourt continues to drive positive impact, we recognise the invaluable role played by our board of trustees.
“These individuals serve as our guides, the stewards of Queenscourt’s mission and the guardians of our charitable objectives.
“Join Queenscourt Hospice on its journey in continuing to provide exceptional palliative care. Together, let’s ensure that Queenscourt remains here for our community.”
