Suffering from a bad head cold, I was sitting in the kitchen feeling sorry for myself. Two years ago, I’d been diagnosed with macular degeneration and the cold was making my eyes sore and watery. The night before my partner had gone into the loft and brought down a lantern. He’d put in new batteries and a bulb, but it wouldn’t work. Now, sitting at my kitchen table looking at the lamp, deep in thought, it suddenly came on! But when I picked it up, it went off. I looked at all the rusty fittings and it wouldn’t come on again. I felt so uplifted, I knew my mum had come to lift my spirits with love. It’s so wonderful to have faith and believe.
