The executive board of the FIH, field hockey’s governing body, agreed to make changes to the rules and regulations of indoor hockey, which came into effect on September 1. The most significant modification was the reduction of the number of players on the field of play from six to five per team. The FIH said the change will create more space on the field of play, ensuring even more exciting action for the spectators and television audiences around the world.
