Total Sports Asia, the international sports agency, said that it had appointed Sherman Tan as vicepresident of partnerships, based in Singapore. Tan joined the company from Fox Sports, previously ESPN Star Sports, where he was head of the events management group. World Sport Group, the Singapore-based sports agency, appointed Sarah Clements as director of operations, with responsibility for leading the management and delivery of women’s tennis’ season-ending WTA Championships. The WTA Championships will be played at the Singapore Sports Hub between 2014 and 2018. Ignition, the USA-based experiential marketing agency owned by Havas Sports & Entertainment, the sports communication and brand engagement arm of the French advertising group Havas, announced the appointment of
John Teter as global creative director. Teter was formerly vice-president, creative director of brand activation company OgilvyAction.
Bastien Hibon left his role as marketing director of the Mercedes AMG Petronas Formula 1 motor racing team to join Limelight Sports, the sport experience agency. Hibon was appointed marketing director at Limelight Sports, where his role is “to develop the proposition of mass participation sport and expand the opportunities for major brands to build associations and partnerships with one of the fastest growing sports sectors,” the agency said. Octagon, the USA-based international sports and entertainment marketing agency, announced the
promotion of Aldo .afie to the post of group director of Octagon Access, a unit of its North American Marketing & Events division. In his new role, Kafie, who will remain at Octagon’s headquarters in Norwalk, Connecticut, will continue to provide multicultural marketing insight for various clients, including Allstate and Castrol, bringing experience of soccer as the sport grows in importance in North America.
