Charity shoot raises nearly £250k

-

The 17th annual clay shoot organised by Gerard Eadie’s Shoot Charitable Trust has raised almost a quarter of a million pounds for charity.

More than 400 people attended the event, held at Auchterhouse Country Sports in Dundee, including Scottish rugby players Alex Dunbar, Stuart Hogg and D.T.H. van der Merwe, and celebrity chef Nick Nairn.

The money will be split between good causes including cancer charity Maggie’s Centres, Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, Horseback UK, Seamag and Polar Academy. Over the past 17 years, the shoot has raised £3million for charity.

Mr Eadie said: “I have always felt that the guests and participants of The Shoot are like an extended family. We come together each year and the generosity that is shown to each other and the charities — chosen because they have a special meaning to many of those present — is always overwhelming.”
