Woodpigeon population debate

Some reports say UK woodpigeon numbers are increasing, while others say the opposite. Who is right, in your opinion? Peter says: Nobody knows how many pigeons there are in the UK, due to the fact they are highly mobile and can disappear from areas for months. From my own point of view, when I started, 50 years ago, it was rare to kill a bag of more than 100; now it is rare not to achieve that figure.
