Sporting Gun

Gone with the wind

-

Some of my friends said they had some really good sport in the recent high winds. Have you ever shot pigeons in blowy weather? If so, was it good and would you recommend it?

Peter says: Pundits always bang on about a good wind while shooting pigeons, but the only time it is essential is either when roost shooting or in the winter, when you must try to break up the flocks feeding on oilseed rape. At all other times, all you need is enough wind to channel the birds into the decoys.
