Ridgeline smock given a tough test

Ridgeline Monsoon Elite 2 Smock
The Ridgeline Monsoon Elite 2 Smock that I’ve had on test for around a year has become a firm favourite of mine. It’s had a good test over the winter with all the rain we’ve had and it hasn’t ever leaked. I just don’t seem to be able to wear this top out. The material is very tough and resistant to thorns and bramble scratches, plus it packs away to almost nothing. The seams on the inside are sealed and the material is breathable. Being thin and lightweight means I have used it in all weathers and seasons.
The smock design works really well at keeping the wind out on cold days and if you ‘layer up’ underneath, it keeps you plenty warm enough. On the quad, the smock has been fantastic – its longer-length and side zips mean I can sit on the tail flap of the smock and still get my legs into a comfortable position to ride. Perhaps it’s the versatility and convenience I like the most about this top. The cuffs have a neoprene inner cuff and Velcro straps to tighten them down further, the zips all seal well and keep the rain out, the pockets are well-sized and practical and the hood is wired and adjustable.
I can’t fault this product; well if I was being ultra picky, it may be a little too noisy to stalk in. This top has been used all year round and I don’t go out to work without it. It costs £239.99 and I think for such a well-made product that’s a good price.
