Licence delay

A firearms enquiry officer visited me in February and asked me to gain further shooting experience to enable him to grant me a licence to use a .17HMR. I’ve done that but I still haven’t been granted my licence and struggle to make contact with the officer. Is there anything I can do? I live in Cumbria.

David says: Notwithstanding the problems caused by COVID-19, I don’t think you’ve been well treated. The good news is that from August Cumbria is to resume normal service for grants. I suggest you try again. If the officer does not respond then you should email the licensing manager.
