The restart

Graham reopened his ground on 1 July. Has he noticed any difference in the shooting abilities of clay shooters at the ground?

“My view after lockdown was to ease people back in with a fairly gentle layout. It was noticeable that some shot good scores, and some shot great scores, as the targets had been made a bit easier. Others had not improved at all. The general feeling I picked up on was that people are simply glad to be back out again. They have all been disciplined in their attitude to social distancing and we are lucky here that as we have a lot of space people didn’t need to book in advance; there is plenty of room. With regard to fitness, this hasn’t been an issue. Due to the lockdown many people have been exercising to pass the time and, while fitness is useful to being a good Shot, it is just one piece the jigsaw puzzle.”
