Over the drill

Geoff Garrod has been keeping his eye on a newly drilled field of wheat, which has started to attract the attention of the local pigeon population. But the birds were clearly still in ‘rape mode’ and Geoff and his friend had to watch helplessly as they flew over the hill and far away. With a farmer to please and bags to fill, it was clearly worth a second attempt. But would the birds turn their attention away from the rape towards the spring drillings? With camo netting in place, Sniper hide poles to test and a strong wind concealing the sound of their shots, it was looking like a bountiful day…
