Foot position

-

The other main aspect of lesson three is foot position and how it affects the shot process. Good foot position can greatly help, as much as poor foot position can impede it. If your foot position is right at the gun hold point, or where the target is coming from rather than at the break point, this can cause you to pull off line as your body tightens as you swing along the line. If your feet are past the break point you may find it hard to get back to the hold point and can make the gun move excessively fast. This is more of an issue with game shooters as birds are not always presented as straight driven targets. Driven birds to the left and right are still potential targets for your peg, but without adjusting your foot position first the chances of pulling off line are high. In this lesson the feet are pre-set to get over the issue.
