Environmentally friendly
A British company, called Envirowad, set out to produce the most consistent of any currently produced fibre wads, manufacturing the fibre material to cut them from and employing specialised equipment to ensure accurate manufacture. They brought some to market and appeared at The Game Fair. Samples were submitted for critical analysis and evaluation and they were indeed produced to very precise tolerances. With no plastic laminate ends and nothing harmful in their make up they were a true ‘environmentally friendly’ wad. Unfortunately, making large quantities of such products at a competitive price seems to have hampered progress. Whether Envirowad will return to production following the lifting of Covid ‘Lockdown’ seems uncertain. But at least proved the company it is possible to manufacture very precise fibre wads.
