No, this isn’t a ‘spot the dog’ competition – it’s the sight of Nick Ridley’s young cocker, Percy, getting his first run in a working test. And the sight of Nick himself, who is more usually on the other side of the lens.

The pair headed to Woburn Abbey in Bedfordshire for the London Working Spaniel Society working test – which involved retrieving from some rushy sedge reed in woodland. After a long wait, which was a bit of a worry as Percy can ‘get a wiggle on’, he got into his hunting pattern as soon as Nick clicked him off.
