Ferrets r-r-raring to go
I have heard it said that you should only use your ferret when there is an ‘r’ in the month. Is this true and, if so, where did the saying originate?
Ed says: If you use ferrets for sporting purposes I understand this, however, they can be used all year round for pest control. Vegetation makes it more problematic in the summer but success is still possible. Some say ferrets go to sleep when they catch and eat young rabbits but I’ve yet to see this, and regularly work ferrets throughout the year. Is it fun to do it in the summer? Less so, but it’s my work not a pastime.
