ADDITIONAL FACILITIES
Sportarm operates the on-site gunroom, gunsmithing, fitting and storage facilities as well as a lifestyle shop. Meeting rooms are available for corporate events.
MOBILITY
Disabled visitors are able to park on a paved courtyard. Pathways to stands are lightly gravelled. Staff-placed ramps provide access to the clubhouse, where disabled bathroom facilities are available.
WHEN IS IT OPEN?
Tuesday to Saturday, 9am to 4.30pm.
PRACTICE ROUNDS
‘Pay and play’ is available across 10 Sporting stands, with clays priced at £0.45. Caddied practice sessions are priced at £75 for individuals, or £60 a person for a shared session.
TUITION
Lessons are available from £90 an hour for an individual, exclusive of clays and cartridges. Discounts are available for members and when booking a course of three or six lessons.
MEMBERSHIP
Standard membership starts from £75 a year. Members benefit from a concierge service, reduced rate ‘pay and play’ sessions and access to a members’ league.
DESCRIPTION
Lady’s Wood Shooting School improves with every visit. In the past 12 months alone, the team has built eight new stands and a number of pathways, renovated the car park and created a new Bowman Sporting Practice area complete with 18 Bowman traps.
■ To really make use of everything on offer, a caddied round is the way to go. Then they will let you loose on the incredible 225ft Extreme Tower, as well as the grouse butts and a number of additional stands spread over the estate.
■ The Extreme Tower is a fantastic challenge for any shooter, but it’s also a useful learning tool – after all, Lady’s Wood is a shooting school. The resident instructors are all fully Association of Professional Shooting Instructors qualified and offer lessons by the hour as well as full-on optimisation days.
■ The learning experience can continue in the on-site Sportarm gunroom, where the team will happily guide you through an extensive collection of fine shotguns, help with gunfitting and even provide complete gunsmithing services.
