DESCRIPTION

When Hugh Jones first established Dovey Valley Shooting Ground in the 1960s he quickly developed a reputation for high quality, realistic, simulated targets. Now, with more than 50 years’ experience, Dovey Valley offers some of the best simulated game in the world. When Hugh’s grandson, Richard, took over the ground in 2019 he continued his grandfather’s legacy, while also developing a huge Sporting area, updating the clubhouse and establishing a top-quality gun room and country store.

When it comes to simulated shooting, visitors can enjoy a simulated flush onsite, or join a simulated day held on the nearby Brynmelyn Estate. These days encompass everything you’d expect from a game day, from good company to excellent refreshments and delicious lunch, while also guaranteeing fantastic birds on every drive.

Excellent targets can also be found on Dovey Valley’s huge Sporting area. There’s over 100 Sporting stands across the estate, with many of them connected to an ever expanding Claymate system. If that wasn’t enough, there’s a Skeet arena too, where visitors can practice ABT, DTL or classic Skeet.

Brand new to Dovey Valley is the onsite gun room and country store. Inside customers will find guns from Caesar Guerini, Browning, Miroku, Winchester and Beretta and others, alongside cartridges from Eley Hawk, Hull and Cleaver, as well as country clothing and gifts.

Currently work is underway to fully revitalise the clubhouse too, with a new café bar coming soon. Clearly Richard is keen to evolve Dovey Valley, while still continuing in the spirit of his grandfather by providing high quality targets in a truly stunning setting.
