Amber Hill
When Bill Rogers invited his 10-year-old granddaughter out onto the stands, he had no idea what he was unleashing. Two years later, his granddaughter, Amber Hill, would
become one of
Team England’s youngest-ever, fully-fledged Senior members at just 12 years of age.
At 15, Amber made Skeet history when she took gold at the ISSF World Cup in Acapulco, Mexico. This win brought her to the attention of the global press, with the BBC naming her Young Sports Personality of the Year 2013.
And 2015 was the year that Amber became more than just an up-and-coming shot-to-watch, as she claimed Gold at the European Games in Baku, Azerbaijan, a win that came with an Olympic quota place for Team GB at Rio 2016.
She entered the Olympic stadium in Brazil as one of Team GB’s youngest-ever shooting Olympians and finished the competition in a respectable sixth place.
After cementing herself as a top notch international athlete, Amber went on to claim a gold medal at the Commonwealth Championships in 2017, and a silver at the 2018 Commonwealth Games in Australia. Amber’s career has been nothing short of
remarkable and she is still hungry for more. This year alone she has scored a silver at the ISSF World Cup in Lonato, Italy, a bronze at the European Shooting Championships in Croatia and a gold at the ISSF World Cup in New Delhi with a world record-breaking 124/125.
With this win in India, Amber has claimed her title as Women’s Skeet World Champion. She is a world recordbreaking, trophy-hungry force to be reckoned with, and has her sights set on the top spot in Tokyo.
“As athletes, this is what we work for, so I cannot wait to get on that plane to Tokyo.”
