Out of control
A hectic personal and work life has meant that I have not been able to control the pigeons on my permission as much as I would like. Am I doing the farmer a disservice and should I give up my hardwon permission to let someone else take it on?
Peter says: Unless you are paying the farmer for exclusive shooting rights, he will almost certainly get someone else to shoot the pigeons. It is easy to forget that while it’s a sport for us, a farmer’s profits depend on keeping damage to his crops to a minimum. You may have to share your privilege.
