Vest shoulders the burden
I am starting training my cocker puppy and have been advised to get a gundog training vest. Is a vest better than a bag?
Fran says: I prefer the training vest. If you have a small dog and you have a bag over your shoulder as you bend down to take a retrieve, the bag can swing down and catch the dog, which can then cause issues with the dog coming into you and delivering. Also, you are more likely to put a bag down when training and this can also draw the dog towards the bag rather than back to the handler. Finally, I find a vest more comfortable as it spreads the load of my training kit.
