When thyroid levels drop
There are a number of consequences when this happens, none of them good. They include:
• Weight gain, despite no increase in appetite
• Lethargy
• Exercise intolerance
• Cold intolerance
• Dull, sparse, balding coat
• Increased skin pigmentation
• Skin and ear infections
• Poor hair growth
• ‘Tragic’ facial expression
• Facial nerve paralysis (lopsided droop)
• Lameness, feet dragging
• Poor coordination
• Loss of libido
• Infertility
• Fat deposits in the cornea of the eye
• Poor tear production (dry eye)
• Slow heart rate
