Fur brigade
Why do you recommend fur balls over tennis balls when teaching dogs to hunt?
Fran says: Both types of ball have their benefits. Tennis balls are cheap, so if you do lose a few, it’s not the end of the world. However, fur balls seem to have a greater value to the dog and are more exciting, and this can help to get a dog lacking drive to pick up its pace. They are also better at holding scent and the heavier ones are good for laying down a scent line. Fur balls are more pricey but more versatile than tennis balls.
