Sporting Gun

I have often wondered if it is worth getting a stock made, especially now we have fully adjustable stocks on many shotguns.

I spoke to Matt Davis at Ian Coley Shooting Ground. He has been fitting stocks for many years and he said that the next best thing to getting a stock made is having one that is fully adjustable. Failing that, you can usually get your off the shelf gun adjusted so that it fits you better.

But I still wanted to know, should you get a stock made for you if you can afford it? Matt says no. Get a standard gun that fits you as well as it can and learn to shoot with that. Then and only then think about getting a stock made. You can read more on this subject on page 55.

I hope you enjoy this issue. Until next time safe shooting.
