Fran aims to be cocker the walk
Fran Ardley, Sporting Gun’s dog training expert, is the one under scrutiny for a change. Those who enjoy Fran’s invaluable monthly advice may be interested to know that she is competing in the Cocker Championships with Josie (Rowston Sublime of Tarncrag), her three-year-old cocker bitch. The championships are being held at Windsor Great Park on 3-4 January. Fran and Josie qualified by winning the Chiltern Gundog Open Cocker trial last October in heavy bramble. It has been a long-held ambition of Fran’s to be part of the showcase for the best cocker spaniels in the country. She said: “Dreams do come true … but it takes a lot of hard work.”
