Curlew action plan
A 10-year action plan to halt the decline of the curlew in Wales has been launched. Led by Gylfinir Cymru (Curlew Wales), it involves a number of partners, including the Welsh government, Snowdonia National Park Authority as well as the prominent rural groups such as BASC and the Countryside Alliance. The decline in numbers of the wader in Wales has been so significant that it is feared it could be extinct in the country by 2033. The 10-year action plan includes facilitating curlewfriendly habitats.
