DON’T BE DENSE
For obvious reasons, don’t train this exercise in a dense hedge line where you can’t see the dog, as the chances are it will take full advantage and get away from you. As you get more confident, and the dog knows what is expected, you can gradually move on to thicker cover. One small thing to consider is that in early spring, nettles can be a real nuisance and can put a young dog off, so check the area before starting your training.
