Hawke Laser Range Finder Endurance 1000
Establishing the distance between shooter and target is key to precise marksmanship. This skill can take a while to master, but is easier to achieve using a laser rangefinder.
I bought the Endurance 1000 to help me shoot more efficiently, be it targets or live quarry. The Hawke rangefinder is lightweight, compact and easy to carry. It has a belt loop on the case and a carabiner, if you decide you don’t want to put it in your jacket pocket.
The device’s functionality could not be more simple as it only has two buttons to operate and change the settings. So, click the power button once to turn it on, point at the target and click it again to gain pinpoint range data instantly. The mode button allows the operator to change a range of different settings, including the units of measure between yards and metres.
The illuminated OLED display brightness can be altered, making the rangefinder perfect for direct sunlight or low-light excursions. The main modes include distance, horizontal distance, angle compensation, rain and hunt. This model can read from 5m out to 1,000m (5.5 yards to 1,094 yards), which is more than enough distance for my needs. The 6x zoom allows for easy target acquisition and the OLED crosshairs allow for pinpoint precision on a target.
The ergonomic design makes the rangefinder comfortable to use as it fits perfectly into the palm of your hand, enabling steady operation. The Endurance 1000 works off one CR2 battery, which lasts a long time due to the rangefinder’s auto switch-off feature. The build quality feels robust and it is water resistant, always useful when out in the wilds.
The Endurance 1000 is the perfect companion for a rifle Shot, but there are two other models in the range — the 700 and the 1500 — that may better suit your shooting needs. The Endurance 1000 is certainly a welcome addition to my hunting tools and I will be taking it with me, whether I’m
Price: £219 stalking deer or plinking rabbits with the .22. Also, for a product of such quality and accuracy, the price seems very reasonable.
