DESCRIPTION
Established in 2008, Belsay Shooting Ground opened with just one trap in a field. Thankfully the facilities have since expanded, with Belsay now offering an ever-expanding Sporting course.
▉ The kilometre-long course currently offers 19 stands with a variety of backdrops and a total of 38 targets to master. This number will soon be increased as the ground plans to add an extra five stands in the near future.
▉ Visitors with their own guns and shotgun certificates can tackle the entire Sporting course solo, thanks to Belsay’s Claymate System.
▉ Lessons are offered to those without their own gear, and to those seeking to improve their hit rates. Every lesson is tailored to the needs of the individual, with Belsay’s coaching team capable of providing oneoff refresher lessons through to full-on, summer-long improvement courses.
▉ Once you’ve mastered everything Belsay has to offer, it would be well worth getting involved with one of the ground’s many competitive events. There are regular CPSA-registered shoots to tackle, as well as a number of special events, including the ESP Geordie Masters 200.
▉ Returning shooters would be wise to consider Belsay’s membership scheme. Members pay less for clays, which, when combined with Belsay’s reloading facilities, could make a Sporting round here one of the country’s most inexpensive.
▉ Belsay is one of the UK’s newer grounds. But with its expanding facilities, excellent pricing structures and innovative events it has already shown its value to shooters across the north of England.
