DESCRIPTION
Set just eight miles from the world renowned golf course at St. Andrews, the Scottish Clay Shooting Centre (SCSC) offers a respectable range of clay disciplines in a classically attractive rural setting.
▉ The SCSC’s Sporting, DTL and Skeet layouts are all connected to a Claymate system, with shotgun certificate holders able to tackle all targets at their own pace.
▉ The Sporting course has been designed to offer a good balance between beginner-friendly targets and more challenging presentations to keep the top Shots guessing. The course is regularly updated and adjusted to ensure a fresh set of breaks with every visit.
▉ The SCSC also offers a simulated flush, which can be set to deliver as many targets as any shooter could wish for, perfect for large groups or competitions.
▉ Lessons are available across all disciplines and are separated into three bands: Introductory, Standard and Advanced – with each category focusing on targets and methodologies that suit the experience level of the student.
▉ Using simulated targets, the SCSC’s coaches can even help game shooters improve their hit rates. Though if you are looking for the real thing, driven pheasant shoots are possible on the estate in season.
▉ If your barrels are heating up and your legs tiring, look no further than the Rhynd Café for the perfect place to refresh your mind and body. The café is a short walk from the centre, but with its locally sourced ingredients, homemade sausage rolls and classic full Scottish breakfasts it is a walk well worth taking.
